KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A suspect is in custody for a shooting at a liquor store in Kalamazoo early Saturday morning.
The gunman is being held at the County Jail and is expected to be formally charged on Monday with homicide.
The 27-year-old was tracked to a home in the community of Wyoming in southern Kent County.
Kalamazoo Detectives, with the assistance of Wyoming Police, surrounded the home and were able to talk the suspect into surrendering.
Captain Craig Habel says the victim was Tykarri Shaheed Lucas, a 23-year-old Benton Harbor man who had recently moved to Kalamazoo. Responding officers attempted CPR but he could not be revived.
