HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Even as damage is being assessed, people who want to help with the Hurrican Florence recovery can take action now.
United Way has created the United Way Hurricane Florence Recovery Fund to support local communities in North and South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Maryland and the surrounding areas affected by Hurricane Florence.
Other social services agencies with donation pages include the Salvation Army; and the American Red Cross.
Meanwhile, area animal shelters, including Harbor Humane in Ottawa County, are prepping to take in displaced animals.
They’re looking for both donations of cash and such items as towels, food. detergent and cleaning supplies — and they may need a few more volunteers. We’ll post details on WHTC.
If you are part of a group that is working to help Hurricane Florence survivors recover from this storm, contact WHTC so we can share your story.
