BLOOMINGDALE TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — Van Buren County Sheriff deputies are investigating a head-on collision between a Ford Van and a horse drawn buggy.
First responders were dispatched just after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday to the intersection of 46th Street and County Road 388 in Bloomingdale Township after reports of the crash.
They say the driver of the van crossed the centerline and smashed into the horse head-on.
The crash killed the horse on impact and the 67-year-old man driving the buggy was ejected and rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
The 59-year-old driver of the van was not injured.
No names have been released.
