UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM) — Fans of the night sky may want to look up, tonight, Sept. 11, 2018
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicts that Lower Michigan, including West Michigan residents, could see a dazzling show in the form of Northern Lights, which is the result of a geomagnetic storm. NOAA has a webpage for sky watchers who want locations predictions with a 30-minute window: https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/aurora-30-minute-forecast.
People interested in learning more about the night sky can visit with members of the Shoreline Amateur Astronomical Association, which meets at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018, at the West Ottawa Planetarium, 3700 140th Ave., in Park Township.
