THREE RIVERS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – St. Joseph County deputies have released the name of an 81-year-old woman who was killed in a single car crash Tuesday afternoon near Three Rivers.
St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office is investigating to determine if a medical issue may have triiggered the crash that killed Harriett Jeanne Swartz of Schoolcraft.
Sheriff Bradley Balk says the woman was heading west on Michigan Avenue near North Fisher Lake Road at about 2:35 p.m. when her Chevy sedan drifted across the centerline, through the opposite lane of traffic.
The car then left the pavement and struck a tree.
Swartz was pronounced dead at the scene.
