ZEELAND TWP. (WHTC-AM/FM) — A Labor Day destroyed a barn at the Midway Dairy Farms on Monday afternoon, Sept. 3, 2018.
WOOD-TV reported that about 60 firefighters responded to the call to help put out the fire, at 5630 New Holland St. in Zeeland Township. On their Facebook page, Zeeland Township fire authorities thanks the following departments for providing mutual aid: Blendon, Jamestown and Olive Township and Zeeland City fire.
While the barn was a total loss — firefighters suspect the spontaneous combustion of wet hay to be the fire’s cause — no people or animals were injured.
