PORTAGE (WKZO AM/FM) — Police are investigating a diamond robbery at a jewelry store in Portage.
It happened just before 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Helzberg Diamonds on South Westnedge Avenue near Milham in from of the Southland Mall.
Employees say three men wearing masks and sunglasses walked in, demanded that everyone get on the floor, smashed a glass case, stole diamonds, and left.
Sgt. Michael Collier says no gun or weapon was seen but witnesses did see the robbers jump into a silver Toyota Sienna Minivan parked behind the building.
