SEDONA, ARIZONA (WKZO AM/FM) — One day after issuing a statement saying he was halting medical treatment for brain cancer, U.S. Senator John McCain has died at his ranch in Sedona, Arizona.
As a navy pilot who spent five years as a POW, the maverick Republican U.S. Senator and Presidential Candidate is being saluted by democrats and republicans alike.
Michigan Democrat Gary Peters says “The strength & bravery of John McCain is an inspiration to us all.”
Senator Debbie Stabenow says “John McCain was a true American hero. He served our country bravely on the battlefield and in public service. His independent spirit and his dedication to doing what is right will be greatly missed. My prayers are with Cindy and the McCain family during this very difficult time.”
