KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Commuters may see an increase in police presence as they travel along I-94 Wednesday afternoon.
State Troopers will join Portage Public Safety, County Deputies and Kalamazoo City and Township officers as part of a campaign hoping to reduce the number of crashes in the area.
Officers will be looking for speeding, careless and distracted driving, drunk driving and other poor behaviors along the interstate.
The directed patrol will be between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday and focus on I-94 as it travels though Kalamazoo County because it’s considered an area prone to crashes.
