KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The most famous of the World War II bombers, is coming to Kalamazoo.
The B-17 once filled the skies over Europe.
Now there are only nine of the planes still flying and one of them will land in Kalamazoo today at noon.
This “flying fortress” is owned and maintained by the Commemorative Air Force. It hasn’t been in Kalamazoo since 2010.
They will be open for tours for a nominal sum and evening flights can be booked in the historic aircraft for between $475 and $850 for a seat in the nose cone, where the bombardier was stationed.
The plane will be in town until Thursday.
