WAYNE TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — A teenager from Dowagiac is being treated at Bronson Hospital after a rollover crash in Wayne Township.
Cass County Sheriff deputies were called to Marcellus Highway near Sunset Drive just before 8 p.m. Sunday where they found the victim who was able to free herself from the wreck.
17-year-old Latasha May Montaro told them she was going too fast as she approached the curve, struck a dirt embankment, and lost control of her vehicle.
Montaro was wearing a seatbelt which most likely prevented more serious injuries, but her current condition has not been released.
Deputies say alcohol does not a appear to have been a factor but they are still investigating.
