HASTINGS (WKZO AM/FM) — Hastings police are investigating what may have been a double-murder/suicide at a home in the 1600 block of Lavender Drive.
A friend who became concerned when members of the household failed to show up to church discovered the bodies at about 8:45 Sunday morning.
Investigators say 79-year-old Robert Wilson and his wife 77-year-old Judith Wilson were apparently killed by their son 54-year-old Richard Garrett Wilson before he turned the gun and shot himself.
There were no signs of forced entry at the small home they shared, and Hastings police say it was all contained within the household and there is no threat to the public.
It’s still unclear what sparked the incident.
