THORNAPPLE TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — A motorcyclist who was critically injured when his bike was struck by a car on Saturday has now died from his injuries.
The name of the 68-year-old victim has not been released pending the notification of relatives.
Barry County deputies say the Middleville man had stopped in the northbound lane of Patterson Road in Thornapple Township, waiting for traffic to clear so he could make a left turn into a private drive when a 22-year-old woman from Kentwood failed to stop, and struck him from the rear.
The motorcyclist was airlifted by Aeromed to the emergency room, and died later at the hospital.
Deputies say he was not wearing a helmet.
The crash report will be handed over to the prosecutor once the investigation is over to consider possible charges.
