GRAND RAPIDS/BENTON HARBOR (WKZO AM/FM) — Grand Rapids and Benton Harbor police departments say the missing 1-year-old boy that was last seen with his babysitter has been found.
Miquis Lamont Jenkins was in the care of his regular babysitter, 19-year-old Iyesha Catherine Gibbs, Wednesday afternoon, but she left the home with the child around 1 p.m.
Family members tried to contact her and she was viewing the messages but not responding.
Just before 3 p.m. Thursday, authorities were seen taking Jenkins out of the babysitter’s apartment in Benton Harbor.
He was loaded into an ambulance to be checked out but is expected to be fine.
The young boy will eventually be reunited with his family in Grand Rapids and it’s unclear what charges Gibbs could face after she is interviewed.
