VICKSBURG (WKZO AM/FM) — The City of Vicksburg announced on its Facebook page last night that its test results are back on PFAS They found no trace in either of their municipal water wells.
They had reason to be concerned because Vicksburg, like Parchment is a small town that was home to a paper plant. Otsego also hosted paper firms, and they are waiting for their PFAS reports.
They are also waiting for tests on a broad range of other contaminants. Residents had already suspected that there may be a cancer cluster in their community because of contaminants.
They plan information sessions to reveal their testing plans and to update their research on Thursday, Aug. 2 from 2 – 4 p.m. and again from 6 – 8 p.m. at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church.
Several other communities are still waiting for results. Depending on their industrial base, some communities like Paw Paw are still waiting to be tested for PFAS.
