PORT SHELDON TWP (WHTC-AM/FM) — Charges are pending in the shooting death of Sherrilee Suzzanne McNeal in West Olive last Tuesday, July 24, 2018.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Bennett says West Olive resident Michael Scott McNeal faces an open murder charge for his wife’s violent death at the couple’s Barry Street home in Port Sheldon Township.
Police indicated they believe Michael McNeal shot Sherrilee before shooting himself in the face. He remains hospitalized in Grand Rapids.
“He is under guard and the prosecutor’s office did issue an open murder warrant for Mr. McNeal,” Bennett said. “He is unable to be arraigned at this point, due to his medical condition.”
