HOLLAND TWP. (WHTC-AM/FM) — A domestic violence incident left a woman stabbed, a police cruiser and another vehicle damaged, and a man in custody with self-inflicted wounds Thursday afternoon, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Koster.
Police were called on the report of a stabbing on the 200 block of Frankline Street, Koster said, and found a 45-year-old woman with serious injuries. The suspect, a 46-year-old man, was spotted by deputies in a maroon GMC Envoy; a chase ensued, to Riley Street, near 136th Avenue.
The suspect used his truck to ram a patrol car several times but also hit the vehicle of a passing motorist, crossed all lanes of traffic and knocked down a utility pole. The Envoy came to rest in front of the Herrick Library North Branch, on Riley Street.
Police found the suspect had some self-inflicted injuries and transported him to the hospital, Koster said. No one else was injured during the incident. Koster said the suspect and victim had been in a relationship.
No names were released, he said, because charges are pending agaisnt the suspect.
