PARK TWP. (WHTC-AM/FM) — The 2018 Ottawa County Fair opened to the public on Monday afternoon.
Fair-goers showed up well before the official 4 p.m. opening Monday — and young 4-H members were there over the weekend.
Gisele De Witt, 12 showed her Boer goat Oreo for 4-H and was pleased to get a third-place ribbon.
Today is Children’s Day, which includes a 14-bike giveaway and a discounted entry, says fair board president Jeff Myaard.
“Ten bucks! How many people can you fit in a car?” he said, adding that there’s plenty of fun beyond the carnival and food booths.
Hope College students will host an “Brains, Bugs and Biology” event.
The Ottawa County Fair runs through July 28.
