KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo woman in custody for a couple of home invasions in the Oakwood neighborhood is now a suspect in at least 5 other break ins in the last week after a key piece of evidence made it easy for investigators to track her down.
25-year-old Anganetta Hahn-Taylor has been charged with 7-home invasion charges and two counts of car theft.
Kalamazoo Public Safety officers were called to the first home invasion in the 2300 block of Crest Drive near Wood’s Lake just before 2:15 p.m. Tuesday but Taylor fled on foot and broke into another residence in the 2400 block of Amherst Avenue.
Officials say she left her backpack at one of the homes, complete with her I.D., checkbook, two sets of stolen car keys and other evidence linking her to the break-ins on Crest Drive and Amherst Avenue as well as others.
Her bond was set at $100,000 due to officials claiming that she is a flight risk, the serious nature of the crime spree and because she has prior convictions.
