PORTAGE (WKZO AM/FM) — Portage Public Safety officials are looking for a driver who fled a traffic stop and crashed into a fire hydrant.
Authorities attempted to pull over a 2014 Mazda around 3:15 a.m. Wednesday on West Milham Avenue near Constitution Boulevard but the driver sped off when officers began walking up to the car.
The vehicle was later found smashed into a fire hydrant at the intersection of West Milham and Ohio Avenues and the suspect fled on foot.
A K-9 team attempted to track down the driver, but they were unsuccessful.
