KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Two Kalamazoo teens are in custody after authorities recovered stolen and unregistered handguns at an apartment complex.
Kalamazoo Public Safety officers were conducting surveillance at the Fox Ridge Apartments around 10 p.m. Thursday when they spotted some residents getting into a car with the guns.
Authorities detained all 4 occupants in the car where a stolen gun was found at the feet of one of them and an unregistered gun was found on another subject.
A 19-year-old and 17-year-old were arrested for carrying a concealed weapon.
A 20-year-old Kalamazoo man was also arrested on unrelated charges.
The incident is still under investigation and additional charges could be added.
