LEIGHTON TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A fatal wreck in Allegan County has claimed the life of a Wayland man.
State Police say that 30-year-old Lucas Minor was driving west on 142nd Avenue in his conversion van when he ran the stop sign at Kalamazoo Avenue in Leighton Township and slammed into a box truck.
It happened at about 4:15 p.m. Thursday and Miner was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the larger vehicle suffered minor injuries.
Traffic was diverted for several hours because the vehicles also took out a power pole after the collision.
