HOLLAND TWP. (WHTC-AM/FM) — A Holland Township man landed in the hospital after attempting to run across Butternut Drive’s five traffic lanes just before 7:15 last night.
“Holland Township resident Michael Overway was attempting to cross five lanes of ButtnernetDrive when he was struck by a car,” said Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Dill. “Overway was not using a crosswalk and was approximately 300 feet from the nearest crosswalk, at the James Street intersection.”
Overway, 57, suffered head and neck injuries and was taken by AMR ambulance to Holland Hospital.
Pablo Delgado, 20, was driving the 2012 Kia Optima that hit Overway. Both men are Holland Township residents.
The crash remains under investigation.
Responding units included the sheriff’s road patrol officers, the sheriff’s e-unit from Holland and Park townships, Holland Township Fire Department and AMR.
