VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — An Illinois boater dried out in the Van Buren County Jail after he was arrested for boating under the influence of Alcohol, just before 8 Saturday last night.
He was also high speed boating on Van Auken Lake after restricted hours.
The 67-year-old was taken to shore by the Marine Patrol and the boat and its two passengers handed over to his brother, the sober one.
Enforcement is being enhanced this holiday period. They are calling it Operation Dry Water, as they look for drunken boaters.
