TEKONSHA, MI (WTVB) – The Tekonsha Community Schools Board of Education voted Wednesday to allow Superintendent Jeffrey Kawaski to return to school property once an internal investigation is done.
Tekonsha Elementary School Principal and Special Education Consultant Jennifer McGuff claimed in an interview with WWMT-TV several weeks ago that Kawaski sexually assaulted her in his Marshall apartment back in March 2017.
A Marshall Police Department investigation into those allegations is continuing.
WWMT-TV reports Kawaski denied those allegations during Wednesday’s school board meeting and that the vote to allow him back on school grounds by the board was unanimous.
McGruff has filed a complaint with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission after Kawaski placed her on paid non-disciplinary administrative leave due to alleged workplace misconduct.
The school board decided in May to spend $8,800 on a professional investigator to look into how Kawaski and McGuff have conducted themselves.
