GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A former Major League Baeball player is being accused of playing games with his assets to keep them from going to a teenager he was convicted of molesting.
A federal magistrate has recommended that Candace Curtis, the ex-wife of Chad Curtis, be joined as a party to the suit.
The allegation is that she conspired with her ex-husband to take all of his assets in a divorce, to prevent them from being used to pay off a $1.8-million judgement won by the teen victim.
They reportedly have recorded prison calls between Curtis and his ex that revealed the plot.
But this may already sound familiar, because Curtis molested several girls under the guise of providing therapeutic massages as a volunteer trainer at Lakewood High School in Barry County.
