HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Holland City Council members are getting ready to accept another million-dollar donation from the Prince-DeVos families, via the Community Foundation of the Holland / Zeeland Area, in the form of a pledge from the Dick and Betsy DeVos Family Foundation, Craig and Emily Wierda and Erik and Stacy Prince. This is on the heels of a million-dollar pledge from Elsa Prince Broekhuizen.
The money is intended for the Civic Center renovations, where costs have risen to $16.5 million.
Council will review Civic Center matters along with Community Development Block Grant Plans, a tax abatement request for nearly $1.6 million from the Hudsonville Creamery and Ice Cream Company, police vehcle purchases and loosening rules for serving alcohol at the Civic Center.
City Council’s meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. today at City Hall, 270 S. River Ave., and will include a closed meeting, special meeting and regular meeting.
