HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — On Monday, 20th Circuit Court Judge Jon Hulsing sentenced 30-year-old Jason Matthew Kapala of Ludington to 19-40 years in prison, according to a Holland Sentinel report.
Kapala apologized to his ex-girlfriend and her young son –who was present during the days-long incident last December — Monday. In May, he’d pleaded no contest to assault by strangulation, felonious assault and domestic violence third offense in May. He was also charged with being a habitual offender
His survivor told the court said she continues to have symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder — and jumps when she sees a car similar to Kapala’s.
