KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A cyclist who was apparently not observing the rules of the road paid the price.
Public Safety reports he was knocked off his two-wheeler by a car near the intersection of Sutherland and Howard Street just after 9am on Saturday in Kalamazoo.
Public Safety says he was peddling against traffic and not wearing a helmet and suffered a severe facial laceration and a possible head injury.
He remains in stable condition. The driver of the car was not cited.
Public Safety is reminding cyclists that they have to obey traffic rules too. They are alot more vulnerable to injuries and worse is they do not obey signals and conduct themselves in a safe manner, and take precautions, like wearing helmets.
