BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — Just hours after the city of Battle Creek expanded its water advisory to include anyone with liver problems or pregnant women…they said…never mind.
Manager Rebecca Fleury says test results came back on the dozens of water samples they took from across the city and the news was good.
Of the 52 samples taken, only 4 wells had levels that were above what state and federal health officials consider safe, and they were all wells at the Verona Pumping Station that do not feed directly into the city’s water system.
They City’s utility staff plans to work with the DEQ on Mangnese filtering at the plant, and will continue monitoring.
They have sounded the all-clear, ended the water advisory and declared the city’s tap water safe for everyone to drink.
