HAGAR TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — A car crash has claimed the life of a Berrien County elected official.
Register of Deeds Lori Jarvis was killed around 10 a.m. Thursday when her car crashed into a garage on M-63 in Hagar Township just north of St. Joseph.
An autopsy will be done Friday at the Western Michigan University’s School of Medicine.
Police say alcohol and speed were not factors in the crash.
The county has ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff until her funeral.
Jarvis was 57.
