KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The Battle Creek man responsible for Kalamazoo’s bicycle tragedy will be in court Monday for sentencing. ‘
Charles Pickett Jr. faces up to life in prison after he was found guilty on all 14 counts he faced, including five counts of second degree murder.
Two years ago last week, he swallowed a handful of painpills and muscle relaxers and took off on a wild ride through northern Kalamazoo, driving erratically until he plowed into the nine members of the Chain Gang bike club, killing five and severely injuring four.
His case will come up sometime Monday morning.
