BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) –A Calhoun County jury has found a drug dealer guilty of murder for providing the drugs that produced a fatal overdose.
The Battle Creek man who dumped an overdosing client on a remote corner in sub-freezing temperatures has been found guilty of second degree murder and other charges and could get up to life in prison.
37-year-old Jarrell Finch was also found guilty of delivering a controlled substance causing death. Pathologists say it was the fentanyl that killed Michael Newman, not the cold. His frozen body was found in a snow drift on Fifth Street in Springfield in January of 2017.
He was tried this week in Battle Creek.
