COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A 37-year-old woman was booked at the Branch County Jail Tuesday following a bizarre series of events in Coldwater Saturday, May 19.
Sarah D. Siler was booked on a charge of burglary-forced entry after a Branch County Sheriff’s Department investigation.
Siler was brought to the jail after she was released from ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital. A jail spokesperson says she is free at after posting a $25,000 bond. Her arraignment in Branch County District Court on the burglary count is scheduled for June 18, 2018.
Following a Coldwater Police Department investigation, the Branch County Prosecutor’s Office has filed charges of terrorism, breaking and entering of a building and felonious assault with a dangerous weapon. A warrant has been issued on those three charges.
Siler is accused of breaking into Rick’s Party Store where several items were taken. Central Dispatch then told Branch County Sheriff’s deputies that someone who may have been involved in the Rick’s break-in was at the Speedway Service Station at 524 East Chicago in Coldwater.
A few minutes later, Siler’s vehicle crashed through the east entrance of the Walmart store and came to a stop near the pharmacy. A customer suffered a minor injury but refused medical treatment.
