PAVILION TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — An 18-year-old gunman who attracted a crowd as he faced down Metro SWAT at the Pavilion Estates Mobile Home Park Monday night has now been charged.
Kalamazoo Deputies responded to the 6700 block of Piccadilly Street at 9:15 p.m. on a report of shots fired.
Investigators say the victim, 18-year-old Daisean Armstrong, got into an argument with , who drew a gun and shot him.
Armstrong was rushed to a local hospital for emergency surgery and is now listed in stable condition.
The teen gunman then retreated to a nearby trailer until a negotiator was able to get him to surrender.
Phillips is now charged with assault with intent to cause great bodily harm, and possession of a stolen gun.
He is being held in the Kalamazoo County Jail on $10,000 bond.
