KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo County’s Undersheriff is apologizing for a mistake, claiming the driver who was killed in that crash with an auto-carrier on Stadium Drive was one of the people that Sheriff Rick Fuller had saved from overdosing just days before.
Undersheriff James VanDyken says that a passenger in the car driven by 26-year-old Kevin Alleshouse, who had gotten out just minutes before the crash was that overdose victim, not Alleshouse.
Tests are still being conducted to try and determine the cause, but the passenger, whose name we are not releasing, claims that Alleshouse had a seizure behind the wheel just prior to the crash.
The passenger says when he tried to replace him at the driver’s seat, Alleshouse drove off, crashing a short time later into a car carrier parked illegally in the turn lane along Stadium.
