BARRY COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) — Barry County investigators are still sorting out the damage and injuries from a collision that left four injured, including a 5-year-old child.
Sgt. Tim Stevens says just after 2 p.m. Thursday a Buick Lacrosse headed south strayed over the centerline into oncoming traffic on Whitneyville Road near Parmalee Road and the 70-year old female driver quickly corrected and swerved back into her own lane.
Unfortunately by then the 42-year-old male behind the wheel of a pick-up coming at her had also taken evasive action and he too swerved into the southbound lane where they met head-on.
The two adults in the pick-up and the female driver were taken to local hospitals.
The 5-year-old boy in the Lacrosse was airlifted from the scene.
Their names and conditions have not been made available.
