EMMETT TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Two men and two children are safe after a water rescue in Calhoun County.
Emmett Township Department of Public Safety officers were called to the Kalamazoo River around 9:15 p.m. Saturday after reports of an overturned kayak, but the exact location in the water was unknown.
One kayaker was able to swim to shore and notify officers.
The other man and the 2 young girls were found clinging onto tree branches and not wearing life vests near South Raymond and East River Roads.
The survivors were cold but did not require medical treatment.
