KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Sometimes it pays to advertise…sometimes is doesn’t.
A drug dealer who was handing out business cards with every purchase will spend the weekend in the Kalamazoo County Jail. Maybe longer.
The Chicago man put his street name and his cell phone number on the cards, no doubt to drum up some business in the community.
He was observed in the 700 block of Douglas Avenue by a Public Safety surveillance operation selling what appeared to be drugs to a local man at about 1:00 Saturday morning.
Officers followed the buyer and confronted him, seizing crack cocaine and the printed business card.
Then they confronted the 25-year old suspect and not only found crack, but dealer quantities of marijuana, meth and ecstasy and another one of those business cards hidden in his pants with the drugs.
They also seized a sizable wad of cash.
When officers dialed the number on the card, the suspect’s phone began to ring.
He is being held on multiple charges pending arraignment and a bond hearing.
