THREE RIVERS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The condition of a St. Joseph County Fire Chief who had been in a drug-induced coma following a violent collision in Three Rivers that claimed the life of his wife has been upgraded from critical to serious.
Fire Chief of the Fabius-Park Township Fire Department Mike Frye is being treated at Bronson Methodist in Kalamazoo.
Both he and his wife were riding motorcycles when they were struck from behind at a stoplight on U.S. 131 at Broadway on May 5th.
His wife, Patricia was pronounced dead at the scene.
Charges against the woman who allegedly struck them may be pending the results of blood tests to determine if she was under the influence.
