PAW PAW (WKZO AM/FM) — Friends and family members are shocked after a long time Paw Paw insurance agent has been charged by the Attorney General’s office with embezzling.
The Elder Financial Crimes Unit claims he siphoned $270,000 from the accounts of an elderly client who was suffering from dementia and has since passed away.
57-year-old Brian Lietzau has been charged with seven felonies after investigators at the Attorney General’s office alleges he abused his power of attorney, to write himself checks from her account, even after she had died.
He is charged with conducting a criminal enterprise, embezzlement from a vulnerable adult, 2 counts of felony embezzlement and 3 counts of using a computer to commit a crime.
