BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — Battle Creek has reportedly attracted a new brewery after local agencies offered a $200,000 dollar incentive package to fill a need in the community.
New Holland will open it’s third brew pub in a vacant space at Michigan and McCamley. Battle Creek has been looking for a new brewpub to come to town since Arcadia Brewery shut down last September. They had been the only brewer in town.
It ironically left the Cereal City bereft of any local producers of a beverage that is basically made from cereal grains.
Brew Pubs have become a popular tourist attraction that adds to the overall health of a community, like having an airport or a river front or access to a major highway.
Kalamazoo now has over a dozen brewpub operations scattered around the city.

New Holland says it will hire 50 people to operate the place which is tentatively set to open in the spring of 2019..
