HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Sometime in early 2019, Holland-area fans of those HopCat french fries will find them closer to home.
The parent company, BarFly Ventures, is planning a downtown restaurant and bar to help anchor a new mixed-use project in downtown Holland which also includes 11-screen theater.
The 84 Eighth Street project is part of a large-scale redevelopment project for Geenen DeKock Properties, which includes retail shops, apartments, condominiums and a new 380-space parking deck.
HopCat is set to have 250 seats, and outdoor dining that could accommodate 70 more.
HopCat’s tradmark creates unique details for every location. This will be HopCat’s eighth Michigan location — the company has 18 outlets so far, including one in Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Lincoln, Nebraska, with plans for new openings in St. Louis and Grand Rapids later this year.
In addition to those addictive fries, patrons will find Detroit-style pizza and signature mac-and-cheese.
Hiring has yet to begin for the Holland location, but dozens of jobs are available in Royal Oak, Kalamazo, Lexington, Louisville, Madison and elsewhere.
