LANSING (WKZO AM/FM) — This may come in handy this weekend if during the stormy weather you drive up to stoplight that isn’t working.
Most people treat it as a four-way stop, which is the safest thing to do, but it isn’t exactly what Michigan law requires.
The statute says motorists should yield to traffic that is already in the intersection, whatever that means.
That’s why Senator Rick Jones proposed that they clarify it to make a blacked out stoplight, a four-way stop.
The measure has just cleared the legislature and is headed to the Governor’s desk, and while it isn’t law yet, it’s what most people should be doing this weekend.
