BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — A Battle Creek man is being treated for burns after a fire began in a pile of rags in his cellar late Thursday morning.
Firefighters responding to reports of smoking at 138 Lacey Avenue just after 11 a.m. and were able to quickly extinguish the fire using extinguishers.
The occupant of the home was treated by EMT’s and then taken to Bronson Battle Creek for further treatment.
The estimate the damage to the home and its content at about $12,000.
