BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — A 23-year-old man from Springfield has been charged with 2nd degree child abuse for allegedly injuring his infant daughter.
Brady West claims he was resting with the baby, fell asleep and accidentally rolled over on the infant, who is only a few months old.
Doctors at Bronson Methodist claim she suffered broken ribs, a broken leg and facial bruises, injuries that are consistent with abusive behavior. They say some of the injuries were new, but some were older and had partially healed.
The infant is recovering at home with her mother. Brady is being held on $50,000 bond for the child abuse charge and an additional $10,000 bond for an unrelated Criminal Sexual conduct charge that dates back to 2016.
