MT. PLEASANT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — An Isabella County Judge has sent James Davis Jr., who is charged with murdering his parents on the CMU campus, back to a mental hospital for now for treatment after forensic psychiatrists say he is incompetent to stand trial.
Davis is accused with using his father’s handgun to shoot the couple in his dorm room on March 2, 2018, after he had a psychotic episode the night before and escaped from a local psychiatric clinic.
They will recheck his status after treatment to determine if he becomes stable enough to be tried. ‘
For now, the prosecution is on hold.
