THREE RIVERS,MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Three Rivers police say a 41-year-old man is behind bars after starting a fire inside an apartment building.
It happened around 5:30 a.m. Saturday at the Maple Crest Apartments off of Millard Street in Three Rivers.
Authorities say the suspect tampered with the apartment’s telephone and natural gas lines and then lit a trash can on fire in the hallway.
A woman in the building woke up to the fire alarm and carried the burning trash outside to prevent any further damage.
The man was arrested on arson charges.
