SAN ANTONIO (WKZO AM/FM) — It took a come-from-behind victory for the Michigan Wolverines to turn Loyola Chicago back into a pumpkin and end their Cinderella run through the NCAA National Tourney, 69 to 57.
Michigan trailed for much of the game. Moritz Wagner had his best game of the tournament with 24 points, 15 rebounds, and three steals. It took a 27 to 10 run in the final minutes of the second half for Michigan to pull out the victory and win a spot in the final game on Monday.
They will take on a #1 seeded Villanova team that dismantled Kansas, another #1 seed, leading from tip-off to final buzzer, setting a new post season record for three point buckets, firing out to a big lead and hanging onto it for the entire game.
For the first time this tourney, 3-seeded Michigan will be the underdog, playing a higher seeded team.
