CHICAGO (WKZO AM/FM) — A Western Michigan University alum who hadn’t played at Lawson for a decade, and never played as a pro, got his chance to suit up with the Chicago Blackhawks Thursday night when the team’s two goalies went down,.
As the Emergency Goalie, he literally came out of the stands.
He is Scott Foster, accountant by day and last ditch goalie by night.
He not only went in, but blocked all seven of the shots that came his way in the 14 minutes he played.
He preserved Chicago’s six to two lead over Winnipeg to win, and was even named player of the game.
